Sophie Fiennes Comes to KSc

King Street Cinema is delighted to welcome filmmaker Sophie Fiennes for a special post-screening Q&A following a screening of her new documentary, ACTING, on Sun, Jul 19 at 6.30pm.

Born in Ipswich, Fiennes returns to Suffolk to discuss the making of her latest film, her unique documentary style and her wider career in film, giving audiences the opportunity to hear directly from one of Britain's most distinctive directors.

ACTING takes audiences inside the rehearsal room with pioneering theatre-makers Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod of Cheek By Jowl, as eight actors spend eleven days exploring scenes from Shakespeare's Macbeth. Filmed from within the ensemble by Fiennes herself, the documentary reveals the collaborative process behind performance, offering an intimate and compelling perspective on the craft of acting.

Following the screening, Fiennes will take part in a 30-minute audience Q&A.

"There is something life-affirming about seeing the creative process unfold in real time," said Dan Champion, KSc Programmer. "We're thrilled to welcome Sophie back to Suffolk and to give audiences the chance to hear first-hand about the making of this remarkable film."

The screening begins at 6.30pm. There are no adverts or trailers before the film, and latecomers cannot be admitted. The total running time is 145 minutes, followed by the Q&A.
