Our Cinema

For over 50 years, King Street Cinema has celebrated the stories that bring us together, offering generations of audiences the chance to experience remarkable films from around the world as they were meant to be seen: together. Here, moving images preserve our cultural heritage, spark conversation, challenge perspectives and shape our collective memory. Every screening adds another chapter to a shared story, connecting past and present through the enduring power of cinema and reminding us that the stories we inherit and the stories we share define who we are.

Designed by celebrated Ipswich architect Brightwen Binyon, the Ipswich Corn Exchange opened on King Street in 1882 after winning a prestigious architectural competition. A masterpiece of Renaissance Revival design, its grand Portland stone façade and magnificent trading hall embodied Victorian ambition and craftsmanship. Today, this Grade II listed landmark stands as a proud symbol of Ipswich’s rich heritage, resilience and enduring civic spirit.
